Born: March 9, Thorp, Wisconsin

Andy graduated from the University of Florida in 1972. While at the University of Florida, he played was a member of the golf team and was an All-American three years.

North turned professional in 1972. He had a moderately successful career on the PGA Tour made remarkable by the fact that two of his three wins on the Tour were in the U.S. Open. He won the U.S. Open Championship in 1978 and 1985. He also played on the 1978 World Cup and 1985 Ryder Cup teams. He also had some success on the Senior / Champions Tour.

Active in many facets of the golfing world, Andy North is accomplished as a professional golfer, television analyst, golf course designer, and corporate entertainer.

Beginning in 1993, Andy broadened his career to that of a broadcast reporter. He began with ESPN as an on-course reporter. In 2004, he was promoted to the lead on-course reporter for ESPN and ABC Sports.

Andy North has designed a number of courses, primarily in Wisconsin and Illinois.
