Ed Seay (1938 - 2007)

Ed Seay graduated from the University of Florida in 1961 with a Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture. After graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.
In 1964, following his 4 years of service in the Marine Corps, he began his architectural career as an associate of golf architect Ellis Maples.
In 1971, Ed began working with legendary professional golfer Arnold Palmer. In 1979, Palmer and Seay formed Palmer Course Design Company, a complete golf course planning and design organization, a partnership that has lasted until Ed's death in 2007. Seay served as the company's Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
When you talk about an Arnold Palmer course built before 2007, you are also talking about Ed Seay. In fact, most knowledgeable golfers and writers refer to the firm's products as Palmer/Seay designs.
