Larry W. Flatt

Born; Wichita Falls, Texas
Larry grew up working on golf courses in North Texas. He graduated in 1965 from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and received his Bachelor of Science in Parks Administration while concentrating his studies in Planning and Golf Course Design.
Flatt was employed as Superintendent of Golf Courses in Kansas City, Missouri from 1965 to 1969, Golf Course Superintendent at Overland Park Golf Club, Overland Park, Kansas from 1969 to 1971, Parks and Recreation Director for the City of Overland Park, Kansas from 1971 to 1980, and Community Development Director for the City of Overland Park, Kansas from 1980 to 1989. In 1989, he started Flatt Golf Services, Inc., a golf course design and consulting firm located in the Kansas City Metro Area. In 2002, the offices of Flatt Golf Services, Inc. were moved to Jefferson City, MO where he and his wife were part owners of a daily fee public golf course in Holts Summit, Missouri.
Larry Flatt has designed several popular and successful public golf courses and directly supervised the day to day construction of these golf courses. He has remodeled and upgraded several outstanding private golf clubs in the Midwest. He brought to his projects real world experiences gained as a golf course owner and operator, managing several of the courses that he designed and built. He was a single digit handicap golfer and frequently participated in state and local level senior competitions.
