Detailed description of Longbow Golf Club

Longbow Golf Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Mesa, Arizona.

Longbow first opened for play in 1997 and re-opened again in 2003. The course was designed by Ken Kavanaugh.

Longbow Golf Club is a par 71 course that plays to 7,003 yards of golf from the back tees. the other tee boxes play to 6,477 yards, 5,830 yards, and 5,202 yards.

This course was named after the Apache Longbow, a military attack helicopter that Boeing develops across the street from the course.

The course features a mix of long and short holes that skirt across rolling desert scrub land.

The #1 handicap hole on the course is #5, a 489-yard, par 4, which requires two solid shots to reach the small, well-bunkered green. The fairways are firm and many of the greens are left open at the front, enabling golfers to run up their approach shots.

The 18-hole "Longbow" course at the Longbow Golf Club facility in Mesa, Arizona features 6,750 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course rating is 71.8 and it has a slope rating of 128 on Bermuda grass. Designed by Kenneth M. Kavanaugh, ASGCA, the Longbow golf course opened in 2003. OB Sports Golf Management LLC manages this facility, with Jay Larscheid as the Director of Golf.

Desert golf at its best. Lots of local sticks play for the quality of course. If it was located in Scottsdale you would pay $150.00. Great conditions fairway and greens. Top course for the price. Nice practice area, club house. It’s a A- on the value meter, really good.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area

Played this course as part of a package with OM Sports. Not a high end course but a good play. Greens are a bit fast but not uncontrollable. Waste areas are plentiful. If you have tix for a Cubs or A's game, this is the course you play at 7:30 to 8:00 and still make first pitch. I will be back.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Vacation Worthy

Good course, but for the price there are a several courses I'd go play before this one. Nearby there is Las Sendas which is comparable in price but a much better and more memorable course. Also Superstition Springs is much less expensive, and you're not getting much worse of a course for all you're saving.

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Better courses for less nearby

Course was in great shape. Greens are fairly quick but good opportunity to score well.If you buy the flight card, the price is a bargain for the area and comparative courses. Challenging course.

I played this course in 100+ degree heat. The pro shop and cart personnel neglected to tell me there was NO water on the course. Saw the cart girl on the fairway of the LAST HOLE....Only 1 set of tee boxes (black) put out, the pins on the greens were all the same color (white-usually they are color coded) and I got stuck behind a group of players from a morning tournament so I had to wait for 5 holes.....the pro shop staff was unapologetic for these problems.....i won't waste my time here again...there are too many great courses in the Phoenix area where they actually care about the paying public...........
