Detailed description of Phoenician Golf Club

The Phoenician Golf Club is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Golf Club offers private membership and is also available for resort guests and the public.

The course first opened for play in 1981. It had three nine-hole segments, Canyon, Oasis, and Desert. The course architects were Jack Snyder and Ted Robinson

After a ten-month renovation, The Phoenician Golf Club reopened on November 1, 2018, debuting a brand-new course for golf enthusiasts. Using previously existing fairway corridors to reroute the course and develop new holes with re-contoured fairways as well as rebuilt and resurfaced green complexes, Architect Phil Smith transformed the previous 27-hole facility into a cohesive 18-hole golf course with a natural rhythm and flow.

Everything is in front of the golfer, with no surprise bunkers or blind hazards. Showcasing the unique beauty of Arizona’s Sonoran Desert, the course plays to a par 71 and offers four sets of player-friendly tees, ranging from 4,594 yards from the forward tees to 6,518 yards from the championship tees. Complementing it are The Phoenician Golf Shop, locker rooms and 19th Hole dining venue, which were all renovated and expanded.

Day 18 - 100 days, 100 courses (Sunday, March 31, 2019)

A great day on the course.

You can meet the nicest people on the course and today I met two of them, Joe and Val. They are good players too.

Joe and Val are from Lafayette, LA and they got very interested in what I was doing. Immediately gave me tons of recommendations for things to do and places to stay when I am in New Orleans.

The redone Phoenician course was just reopened a few months ago. They went from 27 holes down to 18 and did a fantastic job of it. It was all very nice with lots of challenges. Can't recommend it highly enough.

My game is coming together. Shot an 87 and only lost 1 ball.
