Detailed description of Golf Club At Vistoso, CLOSED 2018

The Golf Club at Vistoso is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Tucson, Arizona.

The Golf Club at Vistoso golf course first opened for play in 1995. The course was designed by Tom Weiskopf.

The course at the Golf Club at Vistoso is a pure desert layout and makes full use of the stunning natural landscape. As is the case with many of Tom Weikopf's designs, the landing areas are generous and the greens are very quick and fiercely bunkered.

Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,932 yards. The course rating from the tips is 72.1 with a slope rating of 145. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,095 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 16, a par-5 that plays to 589 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 166 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 9, a 415 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Golf Club at Vistoso is # 14, a 350 yard par-4. Water is in play on only one hole, the 8th, a 389-yard, par 4.

The Golf Club at Vistoso closed on June 6, 2018.

The course was bought by longtime course operator Alan Mishkin via the Parks Legacy Project out of escrow Aug. 15.

The course was purchased for $3.5 million, with the longtime course operator estimating another $2.5 million to be spent on rebuilding and replacing the facility’s aging infrastructure.

The course is expected to open by mid-2019.

Really good desert course, staff are very welcoming, have to keep the ball straight or you will be in " Rattle Snake Country " a good test for the average golfer.

Would travel: 120-300 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again

Challenging layout but fair. Good greens. Perhaps a bit more fairway than standard desert target golf. As with most good courses unless you know where to aim you can get in trouble the first time you play so buy a yardage book. Very enjoyable tract.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
