Detailed description of Pointe Royale Country Club

Pointe Royale Country Club is a Condominium Resort, Golf, & Conference Center with an 18 hole golf course located in Branson, Missouri.

Pointe Royale Golf Course first opened for play in 1987. The course was designed by Thomas E. Clark of Ault, Clark & Associates. The course was rennovated in 2009 by Chuck Ermisch.

Pointe Royale is a true "shot-makers"course. The layout has eight water holes, sand and grass bunkers, and tees for all levels of play, Pointe Royale is a world class golfing experience.

This resort course features extremely tight fairways and hilly terrain. A creek runs through the fairways on holes #3, #4 and #5. Hole #12, a 224-yard, par 3, requires a tee shot that must carry over a pond, and #14, a 375-yard, par 4, has a pond sitting directly behind and to the right of the green.

This newly renovated, challenging 18-hole, 6,515 yard par 70 course is regarded as the original championship course in the Branson area and is maintained to a high level of standards. The course has 8 water holes and in all 12 out of the 18 have some type of water hazard. Overall the rolling fairways and mature trees offer quite a challenge to the average golfer, so remember, club selection and a good golf course strategy are a must.

Was on vacation in Branson, MO and ended up playing this course in the rain, so difficult to ascertain the actual conditions. However, I enjoyed myself as I was almost alone most of the time. Played all 18 holes in 2:45. A negative on the ambiance since there are MANY condos on the course, some within the grounds and some outside that look like apartments. Still, there were some nice houses as well.

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

I was told that on July 1, they are closing the course for the rest of the year to make improvements. Hopefully will improve. They did have water problems due to alot of rain which didn't help them.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Better courses for less nearby, Worse than average course for the area
