Thunder Bayou Golf Links is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Blytheville, Arkansas.
Situated on the former Blytheville, later renamed, Eaker Air Force Base across the Mississippi River northwest of Memphis, Thunder Bayou Golf Links at one time was a 27-hole facility consisting of the original air base nine hole "short course" and the post base closure, eighteen hole championship length track that opened for play April, 2002.
The 9-hole course dates to 1958. It closed for play in 2012.
The eighteen hole course is a links designed by Thomas E. Clark and Michael Peny, and is virtually treeless. Thunder Bayou was built over rolling terrain, and the greens are large and fast. Water comes into play on seven holes, and there are plenty of bunkers throughout the design, demanding proper club selection and accuracy. The course plays from 4,851 to 7,232-yards, and five sets of tees allow this course to be tailored to a variety of playing styles.

its a links layout, with plenty of water in play, as well as tall grass between some tees and landing areas and around fairways. Bring extra balls, because as the locals say "it takes a lot of balls to play the Bayou!"
