Detailed description of Gator Creek Golf Course

Gator Creek Golf Course, previously named Raspberry Hill Golf Course is a Public 9 hole golf course located in Auburn, California.

Raspberry Hill Golf Course opened in 1980. The course was designed by Fred Strong.

Raspberry Hill is one of California's secret Nine-Hole golf courses that deserves to be told about. Only 3 minutes up the hill from Downtown Auburn, it seems far away from any bustle. The occassional Trans-Continnental Railroad train is a big attraction when putting.

Par for the course is 29. From the back tees the course plays to 1533 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 1533 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 1, a par-4 that plays to 279 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 83 yards from the back tees.

Watch out for # 8, a 269 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 9, a 83 yard par-3.

Gator Creek is a sad story. The owner / operator of 18 years was forced out in 2012 by the non-bank note holder. The course has now been leased and the on-site owner operated Raspberry Hill Golf Course has evolved into something deserving of the name Gator Creek.

I wouldn't even call this place golf more like hit the ball into the dirt they call fairways and try to hit the the ball towards the greens. Oh and the greens are just funny to say the least because they are as slow as carpet with weeds on them and patches of dirt you can't even putt. Their is no staff on the course the sprinklers were on as we played so trashy. As a local golfer of many years I suggest you stick to the Ridge or Black oak for real golf don't waste your time here.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy

Worst 9 hole Golf course in California I have ever played. I played there with some buddies of mine and I will say that The greens have not been mown in maybe 2 weeks which made them almost unplayable. There was beer cans on the tee box which also looked more like weeds than grass. There was no staff on site so paying was confusing. Overall this is just a cow pasture to hit golf balls and walk around if you want to kill some time. This place felt nothing like a golf course instead we noticed some motorcycles and another group of golfers with no shirts on smoking cigarettes. No wonder this place Is called Gator creek very trailer trash feel.
