Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club is a Public, 36 hole golf Facility located in Costa Mesa, California. The Facility has two 18-hole golf courses: The Mesa Course and The Los Lagos Course.
Both course opened for play in 1968. Both The Mesa Course and The Los Lagos Course. were designed by William Bell and both were renovated in the 1980s by Ronald Fream.
The Los Lagos Course is the longer of the two courses. Both courses have several sand bunkers on the fairways and around the greens. The greens on both courses are large, have medium speed and are heavily sloped.
The shorter, 5,551 yard par 70 Mesa Linda Golf course plays much easier than its sister course. Mesa Linda has only one water hazard.
Blue tees: par-70, 5,551 yards, 66.1 / 107
White tees: par-70, 5,110 yards, 63.9 / 102
Red tees: par-70, 4,591 yards, 66.0 / 110

Played on a Tues. afternoon. Twilight rates. No waiting to get on, no waiting on the course. Course was in very good shape, Everyone was friendly. Will be back, but I doubt the pace of play will continue.

Played from the back tees this is an interesting course with smaller undulating greens that are challenging.

True, I played on a Saturday, at 1:30 PM, but this course sends out too many fivesomes in prime time, and my fellow golfers need to leave their egos in the car. Too many golfers playing from the Blue tees, waiting for groups in the fairway ahead to be 350+ yards out, then hitting a 100-yard wormburner, and following up by waiting for the green to clear for their next shot. I turned on the stopwatch feature on my watch, and I had to wait 5-6 minutes from the time I got to my ball until I could hit.

Looking forward to playing the Los Lagos 18 next time. Don't usually spend this much on a weekend round, but for the OC and a.m. tee time, worth it.

As with its sister course, Los Lagos, securing an early morning weekend tee time is difficult due to popularity. That said, this course is a great value and is fun to play. Typically the fairways and greens are in excellent condition and is well layed out. This course is a perfect challenge for golfers of all levels.

A short but fun and challenging course. Good greens with usually difficult pin placements.
