The fairways are not as good as they used to be and the greens are in terrible condition. Hundreds of ball marks, very slow.

My experience at this "Resort" course was unsatisfactory. The pace of play was nealy six hours. The staff was rude and arrogant. needless to say, they were not helpful. They offer "complimentary food", but the quality like their staff, and the course pace of play, left much to be desired.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Better courses for less nearby, Worse than average course for the area

Very nice experience. They have week day special $39 to play unlimited rounds sameday after 10pm and you can play both Legends and Resort courses. Resort is newer style layout with several lakes and the Legends is old school partially through a neighborhood but very well designed and challenging track. Both highly recommended especially if you can handle 38 or more in Palm Springs heat. We actually worked in 56 holes, was awesome.

Beautiful day with great mid-November weather. I got to the course about 8:25am and was playing (as a single) by 8:35am with 3 other gentlemen.

I had not played the Resort course on my previous trip to Palm Springs, but I now highly recommend it over the older Legends course, which is fine, but the Legends winds thru neighborhoods, and is an older style track.

On the Resort course, the conditioning was generally very good, lush green and very attractive. Some of the rough on the first few holes had not been mowed that morning, and anything off the fairway meant chopping out of 3-4 inch rye, which made it pretty difficult to get any distance or accuracy.

The layout was attractive, with a mix of native trees and palms, with some flowering shrubs and flower beds to provide some nice color. There are very few houses on the course, which is good, since I think they distract from the overall ambiance of your round. This course is a modern design, but still traditional, in that there are few desert waste areas. It provides a moderate challenge thru mounding and layout, but shouldnt be too much trouble for the average golfer.

The price was fair for this area, and I highly recommend it as a part of your Palm Springs visit. I know that some critics count off since it doesnt have a fancy clubhouse, but since I am not going to a golf course for the clubhouse, that is not important to me.

BTW, the round of golf at the time of my visit included food (breakfast and lunch) at the clubhouse (a buffet?). I really wish that courses would not force this on golfers, as I did not have time to take advantage of it, (nor did I want it), and they could have likely knocked off at least $10-15 of the green fee, which I would have prefered. Also, it does not include anything from the mobile snack cart on the course, which I would have used.

I had played Indian Canyons South Course only 2 days before, and the Tahquitz course did not quite have the same "wow" factor, but it was still much, much better than my North Texas home courses in November.
