Del Paso Country Club first opened for play in 1916. The golf course was designed by John L. Black. The Del Paso course has been redesigned several times during the last 100 years, the latest by Gary Roger Baird in 1981, Robert Muir Graves in 1985, and Kyle Phillips in 2006.
Del Paso Country Club was founded in Sacramento, California on what was once part of the historic Rancho Del Paso. Through the years, the Club has grown to include a championship 18-hole golf course, short game practice area, and driving range.
The Club's 18-hole park style golf course challenges amateurs and professionals alike. The Del Paso Country Club course has many trees and thick vegetation lining its fairways. It was built on rolling hills. There is one creek and one lake that come into play on six holes. It has served as the host to the U.S. Women's Open and the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship in 1957 and 1976 and was the 30-year home for the at Cancer Celebrity Pro-Am.

It's a good golf course and will probably be a "great" course as it matures. It was redesigned a few years ago, and still needs to mature. The course is only going to get tougher and gain more character over the next few years. My guess is it will be the best course in the Sacramento area in as soon as 5 years.
