Diablo Grande is a Public, 36 hole golf resort facility located in Patterson, California. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses. They are the The Ranch Course and The Legends West Course.
The Ranch Course was designed by Dennis Griffiths. The course first opened for play in 1996.
This 18 - hole, 7,243 yard, par 72 Championship Course incorporates the dramatic elevation changes and natural contours of the scenic terrain that surrounds it. The course rating is 75.1 and the slope rating is 141.
Wandering through oak trees, creeks and vineyards, the Ranch Course showcases the serene, pastoral setting of its natural surroundings. Bunkers, rolling terrain and water provide an enjoyable array of challenges.
The signature hole of the Ranch Course is the 650-yard, par-5, #12 - The Mustang. The narrow fairway, creeks and 400 year-old oaks will test your accuracy and your nerve. Three long, precise shots will take you to the well-bunkered green leading to a spectacular view of Mike's Peak, the highest point at Diablo Grande.
The course closed in October 2019.

I have been coming here since it opened5-6 times a year. There is no finer facility in the northern cal area, especialy when you can play both courses the same day, usually in under seven hours.

Bar closed at 6:00 pm sharp. We walked in at 6:05-6:10 after our round hot, tired, and thirsty.. No drinks. No food. Had to drive 15 minutes to get an after round beverage and appetitzer. If golfers are on the course have somebody to serve them after. Excuse was it was a Monday. If the course is open for business on a Monday then be open for business.

This course is DEFINITELY worth the drive and a stay-over. Check the Stay and Play rates at the Best Western Villa Del Lago. It's like stealing, the price was phenomenal. Restaurants at Hotel and Course are excellent. Play the Ranch and the Legends courses at least twice. It's hard to stay out of trouble the first time, especially on the Ranch - It's fair, fun and TOUGH!

Must play this one, no matter how far you have to drive. A couple of the best holes I've ever played, including a MONSTER par-5, are here. Ignore gas prices -- make the drive.

I play this course at least twice a month. Since it is the more challenging of the two premier courses, it is typically closed Mon-Thu to limit play and give it a chance to maintain its degree of difficulty. The greens are usually quick (11-15 stimp) and true. There are several risk/reward holes but every hole will test the player, starting with the 3rd hole, a mean par 4 that places a premium on driver accuracy. The signature par 5 12th hole will make or break your round - good luck if you use your driver on it! Trees typically do not factor in so much on this course, but the 3rd, 12th, 14th and 15th holes will make you think twice about fairway placement. The par 3's are testy but fair, varying from 118 - 191 yards from the whites. Just make sure you have plenty of balls if you're not so accurate with your shots! For the money, the course ranks #1 in my book.
