Hacienda Golf Club is a Private 18 hole golf course located in La Habra Heights, California.
The Hacienda Golf Club Golf Course first opened for play in 1920. The course was designed by Willie Watson. In 2005 an extensive restoration project under the architectural supervision of John Harbottle III commenced. Nearly 300 yards was added to the course during the 2005 renovation.
The Hacienda Golf Club Golf Course is among the oldest golf courses west of the Rocky Mountains. A major renovation and tree-planting program converted it into a championship course in 1964. There are more than 1,800 trees on the course affecting play on every hole. At any time of year, some trees are in bloom. The terrain is quite hilly and the sloped greens are small. The club has been the site of numerous SCGA Amateur Championship. The 1994 event was won by Tiger Woods with a tournament record of 270 and a course record score or 62.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6,955 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,261 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 7, a par-5 that plays to 580 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 148 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 5, a 460 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Hacienda is # 12, the 148 yard par-3.
The architect for the Hacienda Golf Club is frequently identified as Max Behr. The Max Behr designation came about because of a Ron Whitten book about golf course architecture and wrongly cited Behr as the architect. The course was actually Willie Watson & not Max Behr. This was discovered by a Hacienda Golf Club member who researched the issue by going back through newspapers from 1920 and 1921.

The best course by far in the area and one of the best in southern California. Only getting better and better.

Fantastic layout and routing. No similar holes. Uses various canyons with interesting topography. Has bigger and better natural features and more land movement than Lakeside, San Gabriel or Wilshire. Great setting rivaled only by LA and Riv. Greens role pure and fast, though some are too small for the hole difficulty (#5, #7 and #16 could benefit from expansion). Enough width on several holes to allow for stragegic play. Downside is that the course is over-treed and falls prey to the "harder is better" mentality. Course often plays wet due to too much shade. Needs serious tree removal on #1, #3, #7, #9, #10, #11, #13, #14, #15, #17 and #18. Take out half of the trees, let the sun firm up the course, remove some cart paths and it would be unquestionably the #4 private course in SoCal behind LA, Riv and Bel Air. As of now, it is arguably the #4 course, certainly in the top 4-8 (LA North, Riviera, Bel Air, Hacienda, Rancho Santa Fe, Sherwood, Lakeside, Wilshire, Rustic Canyon, Saticoy, San Diego CC, San Gabriel, LA South, Oakmont, Victoria, Hillcrest, Shady Canyon......)

A must play. A wonderful course. It is now regarded ass one of the top 5 in Southern California. No two holes are the same. A great mix of par 3's 4's & 5's.

It is a private club, but if you get a chance to play it's completely worth it. Great, old-time layout that has been refurbished and is very challenging. The grounds are very well taken care of and the clubhouse is great.

One of the best courses in California bar none. I've played Bel Air, Riviera, etc., and if this one is a more desirable zip code it would be better than those... layout is awesome.
