Back Creek Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Middletown, Delaware.
The course, designed by David E. Horne and Allen Liddicoat, opened for play in 1997.
The property on which Back Creek is located was once a farm owned by Delaware's first governor, Joshua Clayton.
Only three holes, #6, 7 and 16 have trees , ponds come into play on six holes andl the course winds through and around a subdivision with non obtrusive homes set back. And yet, this is a links style course. The course has waist-high rough, mounding, and over 80 bunkers strategically placed from tee to green.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 7003 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4915 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 5, a par-5 that plays to 541 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 156 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 3, a 450 yard par-4 challenge and the #2 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 8, a 156 yard par-3.

Course was in good condition but slower players would not yield to faster players to play through.

Back Creek is a quality golf course. I played it on a late season senior rate that was a great value for a really upscale course. The course is challanging but picking the correct set of tees makes it very playable. The overall course condition is at the top of the public course scale.
