Lake City Country Club is a par 72 course. The course was designed by Willard C. Byrd and first opened for play in 1970.

Lake City Country Club plays to a maximum of 6,784 yards. The course rating is 73.4 and the slope rating is 135.

Lake City Country Club has some nice elevation changes. The greens are mounded greens. That's the old traditional style, called 'push- up' greens. Dirt is taken out of the fairways to build and shape the greens.

There are a lot of risk-reward situations on the course, doglegs that can be cut and such. There are also some tough holes, like No. 10, a 459-yard dogleg left that has water top the left. There's a spare landing area and your second shot is over the water and uphill.

The course lives up to its name in terms of landscaping: it's replete with moss-draped live oaks and pine trees. In fact, you'll find yourself punching out bump-and-run shots with long irons a lot if you miss the fairways and land in the trees.
