Had a 9 am tee time but heavy storms looked like we would not be able to play. But Kudos to the entire staff to bumping back the tee time and getting us off first at 11 am.
Tried to not have a forecaddie and I also asked if I could carry my own bag but was told that I must have a cart and that we must have a forecaddie. I am not a fan of either as I would have loved to have walked the course and see the course from that perspective. Also, although our forecaddie was nice and pretty good, he often gave me the wrong yardage and often found him talking to the other players when I was hitting. Plus, the cart paths are miles from the fairway (cart path only) and you are constantly taking 3 or 4 clubs all the way across the fairway to hit your shot. Might as well have walked.
My other complaint is the perennial problem with starters. We had already been briefed by our forecaddie about picking the proper tees. I chose the tees that were one up from the pro tees (I am a 1-2 handicap) while my partners chose the "blended" tees. When I informed the starter of my choice, he interrogated me in front of several other players and then, as I was driving away, he sarcastically stated, "Let's see what tees you are playing at the turn".
Despite my initial misgivings, I was totally blown away with the course and the experience. Being just 5 weeks away from the Players, the course was perfect. This is probably the closest anyone will get to actually playing a course similar to Augusta. We played in 3 hours and 50 minutes and it was a real pleasure as all the holes are challenging and well laid out. The clubhouse is brand new and the practice facility is also first rate.
Be prepared to spend some money - I am not sure what it cost me as I was part of a stay and play package but my bill for one night stay and one round of golf will be somewhere between $4-500.
Again, super experience, great pro and clubhouse staff, but come on - why can't we walk? BTW, hit a nice 9 iron right over the front pin on #17 to 15 feet (missed birdie) and our partner drained a back right to front left putt for birdie on the same hole. It was cool seeing that!

played the course 2 times in 3 days.the layout is terrific. makes you think.the conditioning was what you expect out of the tpc sawgrass name.we walked with a caddy both times. it was a fantastic way to play this course. donald was our caddy the 2nd day and he was great.the greens are small and every bit as hard as they look on tv.the club house was fantastic. we ate at the grill and the view from the outside seating was great.the service at the grill was poor at best.

Day 53 - 100 days, 100 courses (Sunday, May 5, 2019)
I’ve been talking about and thinking about this one for 52 days.
Our start was put on hold for a 3 1/2 hour rain delay but we finally got out there.
Rain scared people off because we never had anyone slowing us down or had anyone pushing us from behind.
Edgar and I started out making a big mistake. We planned on playing the whites but when our playing partners announced they were playing blues we went along.
The blue tees have a slope of 140! Are you kidding me?
Never had so much fun playing absolutely miserably! Every hole is gorgeous. Two tries to the Island green. First round over 100 on the tour. Shot a 101 and lost 4 balls. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat.
