Grand Harbor Golf Club is a Private, 36 hole golf course facility in Vero Beach, Florida. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses, they are The River Course and The Harbor Course.
The River Course is the older of the two courses having opened for play in 1987. The course was designed by Joe Lee.
The River Course is the more difficult of the two Grand Harbor golf courses. The course has an "Agua Driving Range" complete with island greens. There are twenty strategically placed ponds distributed throughout the course, which come into play on fourteen holes, sometimes coming into play twice on the same hole. The course was built on an estuary - "An estuary is a partially enclosed coastal body of brackish water with one or more rivers or streams flowing into it, and with a free connection to the open sea. Estuaries form a transition zone between river environments and maritime environments."
The River course sits on flat terrain with tree-lined fairways. The course has five holes with designated landing areas surrounded by marshes. Except for the green and two small grass landing areas, #5, a 343-yard par-5, is all marshlands. The greens are larger than those on the Harbor Course.
