Detailed description of Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park
Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Cordele, Georgia. To be more precise, the course is located about 5 miles west of the I-75/Cordele exit in the State Park on the east side of Lake Blackshear.
Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course opened for play in 1990. The course was designed by Denis Griffiths. The course is a a parkland style layout with trees lining all of the fairways. With trees, water, and sand-it's not a forgiving course if you stray off line..
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,869 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,205 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 15, a par-5 that plays to 551 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 162 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 415 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Georgia Veterans Memorial Golf Course is # 12, a 369 yard par-4.

Course is in good shape for this time of year. Greens are in great shape and fairways are coming in nicely. I play this course about once a month when traveling on business. Excellent course for the money!

One of the best kept golf secrets in the State of Georgia. I also enjoyed it because there were only 5 people on the course when my threesome played. Finished in 2 and 1/2 hrs.
This is the only course I have played where on the first time playing the course I broke 90 (Shot an 83 with 2 birdies). Would highly recommend this course to any level of player.
