Augusta Municipal Golf Course (The Patch) is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Augusta, Georgia
Augusta Municipal Golf Course opened in 1928. The course was designed by David Ogilvie. Over the years the course has changed some, however you can still see the Ogilvie influence through its design (ie. 2 loops of nine holes, par 3s in different directions, a variety of elevations, a mixture of right to left holes and left to right holes and a test for every club in the bag).
This course features rolling, tree-lined fairways and small, fast greens. Water hazards come into play on three holes. The signature hole is #3, a 371-yard, par 4, which requires a tee shot over a pond to a narrow, tree-lined fairway.
Augusta Municipal Golf Course plays to a par-72 and a maximum distance of 6,056 yards. The course rating is 69.5 with a slope rating of 116.

Always have loved this golf course. Play it as much as I can. I would hire a real golf professional who knows how to interact with the customers and provide a management style one would like to see at a public facility.

The course is not closed. It is open while the city waits for someone to take over the course it is free, but wow the weeds are horrible as are the fire ants. I went over there since it was cheaper than hitting range balls and more realistic. It was still fun and interesting. I would certainly play it again. I hope they get it cleaned up soon.
