Last played here in 2010 as my son lived in the area and this was close by. Once was a County Club but now is a semi-private as they have public tee times ($60) available now. Great conditions and fairway separation for this Donald Ross design built in 1927. It was windy and wet from last nights rain but it drained very well and didn't interfere with the course or our play. For this 6,800yd layout it played very good from the tips and the fairway bunkers were outta reach for our drives but having 180yds+ for second shots on par 4's was challenging. If you do miss, go short as most greens are un- protected in front and up & downs are possible. The side bunkers were not as friendly to get out of and make saves, even though it was good sand. We both were having early driver problems and the rough was not easy to advance the ball any great distance, using mostly 8I - PW was best we could do. Son Barry shot 91 w/33 putts and I had 86 w/30 putts to round out this windy 70 degree April day in Savannah, GA to a must stop and play, first class facility.
