Detailed description of Mccall Golf Course

Mccall Golf Course is a Public, 27 hole golf course facility located in Mccall, Idaho. Mccall Golf Course has three 9-hole golf courses. These courses can be combined in pairs to form three different 18 hole course challenges. The nine-hole courses are The Birch Course, The Cedar Course, and The Aspen Course.

McCall Golf Course first opened for play in 1934.

The course is located in the west central mountains of Idaho where the terrain is gentle and easy to walk, with many natural hazards throughout the course. Located next to Ponderosa State Park, it is common to see wildlife enjoying the golf course along with golfers.

McCall Golf Course rests in a scenic valley, with views of the surrounding majestic mountains. The tree-lined fairways vary in width, while the greens are small and undulating. The terrain is flat and easy to walk. There are water hazards coming into play on a number of holes. The signature hole is #4 on the Birch Course, a 316-yard, par 4, that requires a shot over a huge rock in the middle of the fairway.

The Aspen Course at the McCall Golf Course plays to a 9-hole par of 36 and a maximum 9-hole distance of 3,148 yards.

The Birch Course at the McCall Golf Course plays to a 9-hole par of 36 and a maximum 9-hole distance of 3,147 yards.

The Cedar Course at the McCall Golf Course plays to a 9-hole par of 35 and a maximum 9-hole distance of 3,074 yards.

Muni with 3 nines. Played Aspen and Birch and want more. Funny thing I don’t remember a bunker on those two nines. Easy walkable, a good value for your money. Greens in good shape. Don’t miss the fairway or you’ll be in tall rough. Very friendly proshop and bar staff. Local town is wonderful. My rating B+

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing

The 3 nine hole layout was horrible and finding your way around was a joke. What signage there was is confusing or sparse. Confusing tees seem to overlap and are intersecting with cartpaths and areas of play and are dangerous. Only a matter of time before there is an injury based on that. The price was high compared to Jug Mountain and did not include the cart. The greens were extremely slow forcing one to "hit" the ball rather than "stroke" the putt. Very doubtful if I'd play again unless they fix it and there is no other option.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: Better courses for less nearby, Worse than average course for the area
