Jug Mountain Public (for now) 18 hole course that meanders through Idaho’s pines and farm fields. A few miles south of Mc Call. Really nice layout. Out on 1 and back in on 18. Would be an easy walk but some holes are far apart. For a seasonal course (about 5700 ft. elev.) greens in good shape but not perfect. Fairways are good and wide. Rough is killer of the tees so don’t miss. From the blues a bunch of 454 yd par fours. Hole 16 is one great par 5. Pick your tee boxes with care. Super value for $60 includes cart. Fun bar and proshop. Road trip worthy. I would love to make this my home course. My rating A-.

Nice design. Can have some difficult carries, depending on tees selected. Generally in good condition for a high country course. Winter had some effect on Greens, but generally good and playable. I played in the afternoon so pace of play was fast as I was alone until the last two holes. Friendly staff. Very scenic. Worth the stop. Will play again.

Layout is a little weird and some holes tricky. Need to play more than once. The greens looked okay but were agonizingly slow. The blades of grass were at least an eighth to a quarter inch above the primary grass. Needed to be mowed and rolled. The price was great and the scenery very good. It's primarily a valley type course winding around and through some wetlands.

Would travel: 0-10 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again

The fairways were a little soggy, but other than that, the course was great! My husband and I love going to McCall and playing at Jug Mountain Ranch. We have played in the past and will continue in the future.

McCall had terrible freeze problem during the winter and all the courses had severe damage. This course is still an awesome place to play. The layout makes up for the damage. Some greens are almost grown out completely, but some are still damaged and bumpy. Still worth playing. We are coming back to this one... oh, take time to sit on the deck and have a cold one.. the view is spectacular.

Great course with some tricky holes. Early tee times may be delayed due to frost in late Aug/Sept. I few tricky pin placements hurt me a little but I will be back next summer to play again. First hole is very COOL as its an elevated tee overlooking the valley.

My favorite in the area. Scenic, interesting layout, range of tees to suit the challenge you're looking for. Greens were smooth and fast (some courses at higher altitude seem to roll slow even when the club has tried to make them fast). 10 minutes from McCall. Stop at the driving range to warm-up before checking in (it's down the road from the clubhouse). I believe the ball dispenser takes dollar bills or previously purchased tokens.

Bottom line: I would play again, Best course in the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
