Detailed description of The Grove Country Club
The Grove Country Club, previosly named The Hillcrest Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Long Grove, Illinois. Klein Creek is part of the Royal Fox Country Club family of four 18 hole golf courses. The courses are: The Royal Fox and The Royal Hawk, St. Charles, Illinois, Klein Creek Golf Course, Winfield, Illinois, and The Grove Country Club, Long Grove, IL.
The Grove Golf Course opened in 1964. The course was designed by Robert B. Harris
The Grove measures over 7000 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 133 and a 74.2 USGA rating. At over 7,000 yards from the “tips†it challenges the very best golfer. Four other sets of tees, ranging from 6,800 to 5,000 yards, make The Grove course eminently playable for any ability level. Lush bentgrass fairways and “fast but fair†bentgrass greens assure the quality of play. Sixty-three strategic bunkers, out-of-bounds on every hole, water in-play on eight holes and thousands of mature trees assure you’ll have to work for a low score.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 7,019 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,764 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 13, a par-5 that plays to 556 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 153 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 546 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 17, a 168 yard par-3.

New Course Management, Sequoia Golf out of Atlanta GA. Course conditions have been approved 100% since last year and you can see the direction they are going and it is all positive. Membership only this year so if you want to play you need to be looking to join. Included are the Pool, Tennis, Dining, Driving range, Practice chipping area. Offering a great deal to new members. Course is outstanding with several signature holes that are fun to play with several tees to choose from. Pace of play is very good with 3 1/2 to 4 hrs a common experience.
