In Pontiac, IL on business, Elks CC was busy so drove south to Fairbury, IL to play my old friend Dennis Quigley's home course. Interesting 9 hole walker friendly layout w/ 18 hole tee boxes that plays to 5,840 yds / 72 par / 68.5 / 118 slope. Tree lined fairways (narrow) and a few doglegs, made it a challenging but a feel good round shooting 38/35 w/ 32 putts. Greens are small and slightly raised that held very good, having good speed for a March afternoon. For a small town having a 97 year old track, they have something to be proud of in the conditions and maintenance I saw from tee to green today.
