Arlington Lakes Golf Club is a Public 18 holes golf course located in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The course is owned and operated by the Arlington Heights Park District. The course once served as a Nike Missile Base.
Arlington Lakes Golf Club first opened for play in 1979. The course was designed by Garrett and David Gill.
The course was closed from 2015 to 2016 for a 2.4 million dollar restoration/renovation. The work reduced the number of sand traps on the course from 106 to about 50. The entire course was flipped, with the back nine holes becoming the front nine and vice versa. The course was redesigned by Michael Benkusky.
Par for the course is 68. From the back tees, the course plays to 5,432 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 2,905 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 2, a par-5 that plays to 501 Yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 125 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, the 501-yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 14, a 148 yard par-3.
The course may be short, but locals say that it is a real challenge. Water comes into play on nine holes.

Tight fairways, challenging course even though shorter than most. Lot's of water to contend with on several holes. Great place to play during the week.

Beautiful course in great condition. Too many hazards for my level of play. A lot of water and too many large sand traps made this a difficult course to complete $(with my head held high). Both par 5s turned into nightmares for me. Better than average golfers would probably love this course though. Currently the yardage markers are off, at tee boxes so it's helpful to have a gps to double check, especially on the par 3s.

Course was shorter than most but enjoyable to play. Greens were pretty rough and traps not the best, but enjoyable overall and priced right for the area. Staff was OK.
