The front nine has American style holes. Most of the zoysia fairways are lined with mature oaks trees. There are many holes that will stand out on the front nine, but the 6th hole and 7th hole are two of the best in the area. On these two holes accuracy and shot positioning is key, which can be said for most of the holes on the front nine. Regulars refer to it as weighing your risk verses the reward. It is the thinking man's or woman's nine.
The back nine features European style links. The links style comes with all the trappings of sand, wind, and water. This makes the back nine the more challenging of the two nines for most golfers. It closes with one of the most talked about holes in the St. Louis area. Everyone has a story about the 18th hole, whether it’s driving the green to beat your partner or being the person that blew that big lead going into 18, it is sure to keep things interesting, but that goes for every hole on the back nine.
