Detailed description of South Shore Golf Course

South Shore Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Syracuse, Indiana.

South Shore Golf Course first opened for play in 1920 with nine holes. The original nine was designed by Dick Tuttle and his son, Carl. William Diddel designed the back nine and redesigned the existing holes in 1927.

South Shore Golf Course is within visual range of Lake Wawasee, This hilly course is very challenging because of all the water hazards, trees, and sand bunkers incorporated into its design.

The course has two signature holes, holes #1 and #8.

#1, is a 275-yard, par 4, with hills, water and sand bunkers in play.

#8, is a 240-yard, par 3, requiring a long tee shot over a creek to the green.

Blue tees: par-72,  6,328 yards, 70.8 / 126
White tees: par-72, 5,560 yards, 67.2 / 118
Red tees: par-72, 5,305 yards, 70.6 / 120
