Wildwood has history, and driving into Wildwood is like driving into times past. Wildwood is one of only a handful of golf courses nationwide on the National Register of Historic Places.
The clubhouse dates from the 1920's and once was used to house prisoners of war during World War II. Many of the structures on the golf course and the adjacent grounds were built during the World War II.
Wildwood's age means the trees along the fairways are now old growth big adding to the ambiance and challenge. Several streams also add to the challenge and place a further emphasis on accurate shot-making.
The greens are large and hold shots very well. The greens are smooth, putts hold the line well.
The most difficult hole by handicap is the ninth, a 377-yard dogleg left par four with a creek that guards the front and right of the green.
