Alvamar Country Club is 36 hole golf facility located in Lawrence, Kansas. The facility has two 18-hole golf courses. They are The Private Course and The Public Course.

The Alvamar Country Club Public Course first opened for play in 1973. The public course was built 9 holes at a time with the Hidden Valley 9, built in 1973 and Sunflower 9, built in 1978. Both nines of the Public Course were designed by Mel Anderson.

The architectural style is notably different from Alvamar Country Club Private Course as the naturally wooded, steeply sloped; terrain dictated more of a target-oriented layout. Smaller, more undulating greens will greet the players that have successfully navigated the narrow fairway corridors and evaded the multitude of water hazards. At 6,829 yards from the black tees, The Alvamar Country Club Public Course is one of the most difficult courses in the state of Kansas. The public course has often been ranked as one of America's top 100 public courses.

The Alvamar Country Club Public Course closed in 2016. Among other changes, The Club changed its name to The Jayhawk Club. The Private Course has been expanded to 27 holes.
