The Tug Valley Country Club golf course first opened for play in 1962. The course was designed by Paul Schirts.
The Tug Valley Country Club golf course is unusual in a number of ways. Start with the configuration. This is a 10 hole course. If that's not enough, This Tug Valley is unique as it is the only course that plays in two different states. On #2 you tee off in WV and putt out in KY. On #6 you tee off in KY and putt out in WV.
The Tug Valley Country Club golf course was built on rolling terrain and has many trees that can alter your shots. There is a large river that comes into play four times. All the small greens are undulating and a few are elevated.
Tug Valley's most difficult hole is #7, a 425-yard, par 4, requiring a tee shot from off an elevated tee box over a river to the fairway, then an approach shot to a green that is protected by a sand bunker on the left and trees on the right.
The 10-hole Tug Valley Country Club golf course plays to a 10-hole par of 36 and 3,003 yards. Guests are not allowed to play the course unless accompanied by a club member.
Blue tees: par-37, 2,694 yards, 34.2/118
Red tees: par-36, 3,003 yards, 34.6/118
