Stow Acres Country Club, is a Public, 36 hole golf facility located in Stow, Massachusetts, 25 miles west of Boston. The grounds are comprised of two award winning championship 18-hole golf courses centered around a renovated antique Victorian clubhouse. The two 18-hole golf courses are The North Course and The South Course.
The South Course opened for play in 1920. Geoffrey Cornish designed the back nine and redesigned the existing holes on the Stow South Course in 1965.
The South Course is the shorter and more hilly course. Like the North Course, this course was cut out of the forest. Some of the fairways are dogleg designs, and water hazards (ponds) come into play on four holes. The greens are multi-tiered, elevated, and well bunkered.

I played in Spring conditions, but due to the mild winter the greens are Summer ready now. The early season senior rate to walk of $35 was a bargain.

Greens are in great shape and that makes up for a lot of other things.

Poor drainage and path conditions. There was a 2 lb rock barely covered by sand in 18th hole bunker. The South Course is a poor sister to North course. No rangers present. The South Course was over priced for the quality provided.

It looks like management has put all their resources into maintaining the North Course. Toudh winter dictates the South Course needs lots of tender loving care and it is not getting it.
