Crooked Tree Golf Club is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Petoskey, Michigan.
Crooked Tree Golf Club first opened for play in 1994. The course was designed by Harry Bowers. The course was renovated and holes 16, 17, and 18 redesigned in 2014 by Arthur Hills.
The course is located on the high bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan. It blends in well with the natural terrain. The fairways afford wide landing areas, but the rough is similar to that found on a Scottish links-style course. The greens are large, undulating, and not too severely bunkered. Four tees stations are available, enabling people to choose between a longer, more challenging game, or a shorter more relaxing one. A creek, meandering through the course comes into play several times.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,584 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,713 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 13, a par-5 that plays to 545 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 176 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 6, a 539 yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 15, a 176 yard par-3.

Joined a group of Golfers (16) from Muskeegon, MI that are playing five (5) Boyne Highlands courses in three (3) days. This Crooked Tree track had the trickest greens to figure out and maybe that was because of the first time playing in this hilly area. I would suggest to purchase one (1) Yardage Book for each foursome so yardages to hiddend landing/hazards can be identified. With six (6) tees from 6,669 - 4,528yds you can pick and move to yardages/carries to fit your comfort zone. We chose the Orange (2,970/3,164yd) that played Par 35/36 and was a good choice. Execlent conditions awaited us from tee to greens today and the sand traps were fluffed like the beaches on Lake Michigan. Every green was undulating and well protected by non-typical shaped traps ready to grap those arrant shots. Just hitting the lighting fast greens in regulation didn't mean Par, putting was another adventure in itself. I was lucky to have someone always putting behind me during my 31 putt round that helped me shoot 38/40.....thanks Guys. No real hole I played today stands out as being memorable as I was focused on each shot....which is rare. This is one great course to be played if you find yourself in the Petoskey area for vacation.
