Decided to play this Ralph Banfield course that Front 9 was designed in 1969 and the Back 9 followed later in 1971. With the four (4) tees you can play from 6,828yd / 74.6 / 136 down to 4,954yd / 69.7 / 125 on this tree laden rolling Par 36/36 layout. We decided to play the White's (3,224/3,380yds / 73.5 / 134 and had our hands full on the mostly elevated and front bunkered greens. They have 250-100 yardage blocks are found in the middle of each fairway. Starting off on #1 a 374yd Par 4 you need to check yardage carry across creek the is left of your tee landing area. The #2 is a Par 3 that plays 203 - 129yds straightaway with front traps. They waste no time getting their Hcp 1 419yd dogleg left Par 4 to a uphill green protected by a steep front, ready to reject. The #4 is another large green 204yd Par 3 similar to #2 hole. The #5 471yd Par 5 maybe short but a narrow fairway, pond in front of undulating green makes it three (3) shots and tough if you stray. The next holes 6,7,8 are narrow but straightaway 373 - 406yd Par 4's with large front traps catching short shots. Easy 479yd Par 5 that sweeps right with stream in front of green. The Back 9 starts out with a sweeping left 415yd Par 4 that protects its Hcp 8 ranking by marsh on the RH and trees on the left to the elevated green. The #11 is one tough long 438yd Par 4 and their Hcp 2 hole. The #12 plays 547yds from the tips and is narrow all the way to the front trap protected green. The #13 is another 426yd Par 4 that has a tough elevated green to hit and putt on. The finishing #18 at 445yds will challenge your 2nd shot to clear the pond in front of green that looks farther away than it is. Very challenging and rolling layout that has tipped greens that putt tougher than they look. Jeremy ended up shooting 44/42 w/38 putts and I had 41/41 w/32 putts as landing below the cup paid off. Very good conditioned course for the heavy traffic they get and sneaky tougher than it looks.

Would travel: 20-30 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing, Ranks with the best in this price level

The Staff, from the Head Pro on thru to the "cart girls" are friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. The course has a 140 slope rating from the back tee placements and would reflect that rating if the rough were allowed to grow a little higher since the fairways are usually only 16 yards wide. (Personally, I would estimate the current slope to fall between 130 and 135) The par threes are a fine test of golf while three out of the four par fives can be reached in two ... provided a long approach shot can land safely beyond the hazards guarding these greens. The front nine and the back nine are separated by a local 2 lane road which tends to highlight the slight layout differences between the two tracks. The layout of the front nine is somewhat "denser" than the back nine where the back nine holes are more spread out. However, the back nine holes are, on average, longer with a more difficult approach shot than the front nine holes. An accurate description of the course layout would be "old style" parkland. The course does include a driving range and a practice sand bunker. (Bring an old club to the practice sand bunker since the "sand" is mixed with a plentiful supply of small gravel stones.)

Would travel: 10-20 Miles, Not Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Better than average course for the area, Fair priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
