Always look forward to playing the "Grande" as its Jackson County s premier public course and takes care of its seniors. Paid $28 senior price for playing a mix of Gold (6,838yds) / Blues (6,443yds) tees to stay short of fairway sand traps and hazards. Tee to green have conditions that match any Country Club and no fairways that run side by side. Playing here is like a trip "Up North" without the drive with only four holes viewing houses or roads. Generous landing areas come with forced carries of 150 - 200 yds with the back 9 starting out with toughest visual driving holes there. Shot 41/42 w/40putts because hitting the fairways/greens is the easy part, reading and rolling 35' to 50' putts is another thing. Must put this on your list if traveling through the Jackson area and you won't be disappointed.

The "Grande" was the first course to open in Jackson, after a very cold January/February start. My boys and I laid down $35 on this warm, sunny 43 degree Saturday morning, to get the dust off the clubs and shoes. Even after being closed since early November, the course looked better that most courses I've played recently this spring. Grass conditions are still a little soft, greens fuzzy, traps firm but Hey, we're out playing. (Trust me, summer conditions are Great) This just shows you how well maintained and conditioned this course is by how it recovered after a long winter. Ready to play, out of the box. All six (6) tee boxes were open so you could pick your poison from Blacks 7,157yds to Reds 4,785yd and start swinging. We chose the Blues 6,443yds / 70.6 / 132 /Par 36/36 and having all carry, the scores showed it. I ended up being low man at 47/40 w/34 putts and found out my real carry on the driver. (Lost a few more yards over winter, again) They have a full practice area here to get warmed up on and taking advantage of it will pay dividends out on this great course. Must put this course on your list if playing any of the other 21 courses in Jackson county.
