Detailed description of Garland Golf Course -Reflection
Garland Golf Course is a Resort, 72-hole golf course facility located in Lewiston, Michigan. Garland Golf Course resort has four eighteen hole courses, they are: The Reflections Course, The Monarch Course, The Swampfire Course, and The Fountains Course

The Reflections Course first opened for play in 1990. The Reflections Course was designed by Ron Otto.
The Reflections Course has water hazards coming into play on eight holes, and its tree-lined fairways are quite hilly. The greens are undulating and some are elevated.

The Swampfire Course first opened for play in 1987. The Swampfire Course was designed by Ron Otto.
The Swampfire Course has water coming into play on fifteen holes.

The Monarch Course has water hazards coming into play on fourteen holes.

The Fountains Course first opened for play in 1995. The Fountains Course was designed by Ron Otto.
This course is hillier than the other three courses. There are six par 3's, six par 4's and six par 5's. Every pond has a fountain, which is how the course earned its name. A few of the hole play across County Road 489, and to cross over you must proceed across the largest and most rickety single-span log bridge in the world.

The "Reflections GC" built in 1980 was designed by Ron Otto and its condition was over the top just like the Monarch GC was this morning. Our group was playing this course as a "Scramble" starting from the Tips/Blues 6,373yds / 71.1 / 135 with a Bogey moving down to Whites @ 5,935yds / 69.1 / 130 or keep moving to Reds @ 4,713yds / 63.9 / 115 on this Par 36/36 layout. This wooded, swampy and various placed sand traps made the shorter yardage tight and the greens adding salt to your wounds. Elevated blind green design along with sand traps made landing in the right location, a real challenge. The Front 9 starts out #1 a 383yds Par 4 Hcp 3 that has your approach shot up hill to a blind front trap green. The #2 dogleg left Par 5 at 487yds is a Hcp 2 because of tough downhill 2nd shot and two (2) front traps protecting this elevated green. The #5 double creek crossing is a tough Hpc 1 Par 5 at 555yds and hidden water RH side fairway 180yds in, so stay left. The #8 is a short 497yd Par 5 but sweeps left with three (3) big RH sand traps your last 250yds to the very small elevated green. The Back 9 starts out with a very narrow 525yd Par 5 that needs a drive to the LH side if you want to see the hidden green tucked in the RH corner. The lucky #13 Hpc 2 Par 4 at 360yds has hidden center fairway trap 200yds out and the elevated/blind green tucked in LH corner with two (2) big front traps catching anything 40yds short. The Front 9 ended with #9 a 170yd Par 3 and Back #18 is a 222yd Par 3 elevated big green with LH/RH sand traps to catch any strays. We ended up shooting -8 or 64 on this great conditioned layout in 4hrs 45 minutes as it was a packed course today.
