Short course but challenging. Minutes from DTW. Greens are nice and fast.

Tricked out course due to the short length of the standard tees. Requires shot placement to avoid water and out of bounds areas. Some fairways are too close to each other and require you to be extra alert of errant shots. Rangers should be employed to improve pace of play.

Drove by Woodlands of Van Buren GC after playing nearby Fellows Creek CG this morning and found its been acquired by neighboring "Waste Management" corporation. In short, it's now part of a landfill or just one big sand trap. Sad ending as I played it back in the late 1990's while I was working at GM Romulus Powertrain plant and was a very challenging layout. It looks as though the decision to close happened in December 2016 or early 2017.
