Detailed description of Dearborn Hills Golf Course
Dearborn Hills Golf Course is a Public 18 holes golf course located in Dearborn, Michigan.
Dearborn Hills Golf Course first opened for play in 1923.The course was designed by Warner Bowen. It was built by the late Robert Herndon, a prominent local developer, and benefactor. It is reputed to be Michigan's oldest public golf course and is listed in the State Register of Historic Sites. In the summer of 1991, it closed for a $5 million renovation and expansion. The resulting new course was named Michigan's Best Public Golf Course by Detroit News readers and awarded 3.5 stars by Golf Digest's "Best Places To Play."
Par for the course is 60. From the back tees, the course plays to 4,495 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 3,217 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 4, a par-4 that plays to 420 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 144 yards from the back tees.

Dearborn Hills is just a great short course. Cost $15 as a senior non-resident pre-season rates. For snow melting only 2 weeks ago, this course was in great shape. The course plays 4495 yards from the blacks but has plenty of risk reward holes that truly makes for a tough little course. The course is divided by a major highway but the noise was not noticed. I will definitely be playing this course again.
