Riverton Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Riverton, New Jersey.
The Club was incorporated in 1900 and the course opened in June of that year. Coale and John Reid, the professional at Atlantic City, laid out the original nine-hole course. Donald Ross designed the 18-hole replacement course that we see today. The 18-hole course opened for play in 1916.
This is a very demanding course with its medium-sized greens and tree-lined fairways. Water that comes into play on four holes.
Blue tees: par-71, 6,490 yards, 71.1 / 126
White tees: par-71, 6,235 yards, 70.1 / 124

Riverton is a private club, so not open to general public. I was able to play as a visiting member of a nearby club. It is a Donald Ross design, and is in very good shape. The staff could not be nicer; they made us feel special. Riverton is a remarkable course in that it is playable for the average 90's player, but also a test for scratch players. It does not have a dumb hole on the course, which is saying something as I have played many very good courses which still have one or two ill conceived holes. The worse I can say about Riverton is that the 2nd hole is a little bland. This is the most fun course to play in South Jersey (Camden, Burlington and Gloucester Counties), and my personal favorite that is not called Pine Valley.
