Water hazards come into play on five holes, and the terrain is rolling. Golf Magazine rates Plainfield Country Club golf course as one of the top 100 courses in the United States.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6865 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5747 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 12, a par-5 that plays to 585 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 6, a par-3 that plays to 141 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, a 450 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Plainfield Country Club is # 11, a 147 yard par-3.

This beautiful and idyllic Donald Ross gem is a testament to what course routing used to be about : taking the land that's given to you and literally playing over and through it. Ross took an exceptional piece of property and placed on it a fair and fun challenge that really is easy on the eyes. The inland links style pulls it away from the cookie cutter tree lined courses that are all over NJ. Play if you can or go to the Barclays next fall when the FedEx cup returns the playoffs there!
