Saratoga National Golf Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Saratoga Springs, New York, 30 minutes north of Albany.
Saratoga National Golf Club golf course first opened for play in 2001. The course was designed by Roger Rulewich.
Saratoga National was listed on the 2005 "100 Best Public Courses in America" by Golf Digest Magazine and named 2005 "Golf Course of the Year" but the National Golf Course Owners Association. Saratoga National was also ranked "#5 Best New Upscale Public Golf Course in America" by Golf Digest in 2001
Saratoga National is not "for members only." Rather, it's a place where everyone is treated like a member. A place where you can enjoy the benefits of a private club without annual dues, minimums or initiation fees. At The Saratoga National Golf Club, they have one simple mission: "To provide their guests with the finest golfing and dining experience available in the Northeastern United States."
Measuring from 5,009 to 7,237 yards, this par 72 championship layout is a mix of styles, and is constructed on a former horse farm, with many wetland areas throughout. Water comes into play often, and 16 holes require forced carries off the tee. Though generally an open flat course, there is some elevation to the fairways, and the large greens play fast. There are 5 sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels, and the carts are GPS equipped. All fees include golf cart with GPS, unlimited use of the practice facility for the day, and use of a locker and other clubhouse amenities

Saratoga National is having a wonderful special, where with vouchers given at a free open house event on April 1st, you can play the course for $60 til May 7th, $80 til May 23, and $100 til June 2nd. Check around, someone you know must have a voucher as the event was attended by almost 800 people. This course is spectacular from all the tee boxes, even in hurricane force winds like we had today. They've made the course a bit easier by trimming some of the fescue areas, which speeds up play, so our foursome finished in 4 hours despite being rusty from the long upstate NY winter. Pro shop staff is wonderful, so ask about the special rate even if you don't have a voucher (I think it is $85 to play sans voucher). Bring in your extra shoes as free shoeshine and spike replacement is included in greens fees, along with cooler with bottled water, GPS, and free use of practice range facilities. Amenities can't be beat. A must play course with more reasonable rates off season. It goes to over $200 in racing season though...so go early or later. Golf as it should be!!

I can honestly say that not only is this the best conditioned course in Saratoga, but in the entire Capital District. The course is challenging, especially for higher handicaps, greens are always perfect, facilities are second to none, and the staff is the most professional and courteous you will find. If you golf, you HAVE to play SNGC

I enjoy this Links sryle course, although a little pricey. The one thing I can say are that the facilities are in excellent shape. Not only is the course in great shape but the rest of the facility is just as good. The club supplies range balls, tees and a cooler with water in addition to GPS. I believe that all of the amenities contribute to making this a pretty good deal for the money.

$65 rate was an early season special until mid-May on selected days. Tough winter in Northeast was hard on all courses - while the fairways were quite good the greens are far from their normal great condition. Great, helpful and friendly staff throughout facility. GPS-equipped carts really help play. Terrific driving range and large practice green.
