For the price, one of the best bargains in the Myrtle Beach area. We paid $42.00 for the round of golf including the cart, breakfast (pretty average), lunch from the menu (again average) and two drinks. Mine were Yeungling Lagers for what it is worth. The layout is very good. Some forced carries for shorter hitters can be a problem. The greens were a bit slower than usual this time around. I guess they were stimping around 9 instead of their usual 10 or so. The fairways were thin with some very thin areas around the greens making chipping a challenge. If you catch the course on a day when it is in good shape it is a VERY good bargain. I play there four or five times a year and I never feel I was cheated on price. The pace of play is fairly slow as you would expect with a full tee sheet almost every day. My recommendation is put it on your list. Enjoy the bargain price and a great layout. Any other shortcomings are easily overlooked.

Course was excellent AND the price includes breakfast, lunch (full menu) and two beverages. Bottom line - we would play it again even without the food.

Played here 10-18-13 as part of a golf package, and came away thoroughly humbled by an outstanding golf course. Great design, superb use of the terrain, and lots of wildlife to enjoy. Design is one of Maples' best, I think. Some punishing bunkers, big enough for a boxcar, but they are easy enough to avoid if you are not suckered in by the pin placement...as I was! Lots of water, complete with 'gators. Most impressive feature in my view was the very heavily contoured greens, many of which had pins placed right at the crest of a knob: very tough day on the moss. Make an effort to fit this course into your travel plans - it is worth the effort!

We had a tee time for this day, 4/senior resident players unloaded our clubs and went to check in. We also had the coupon for senior 60+ resident rates Mon-Wed for $32.00 each. Well my friend and I showed them our d/license to show we were resident of Sc (Horry) county and the coupon that had nothing about having ID of any kind and were told we could not play for that rate because our wives did not not have any ID with them for the same rate, $100.00 each for them. Disapointed with the poorly handled situation we loaded our clubs and went to another course and played. Oyster Bay Staff made no attemp to resolve the matter. What else can I say.

I enjoyed the challenge of all the sand and water as compared to the courses in my home state of Pennsylvania. The alligators along the ponds were interesting. For this time of year, the fairways and green were quite good.

New management, Arnold Palmer organization, knows how to run an outstanding golf course! This course is by far the best in Sunset Beach and one of the top three along the "Grand Strand". It is a "must play" for tourists.
