The Club at Irish Creek, originally name Kannapolis Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Kannapolis, North Carolina.
The Golf Course first opened for play in 1954. The course was designed by Monroe Maulden. The course was totally renovated in 2007 by Davis Love III. Love's renovation incorporated adjacent property to lengthen the layout. Even those holes crafted within existing golf corridors were updated with completely new tees, fairways, bunkers, and green complexes.%u200B
This course was cut out of mature pine trees and dogwoods. Set into dramatic, rolling terrain that encircles a pristine 400-acre lake, the design takes full advantage of the mature forest, the natural contours, and the ever-present lakefront, which is visible from 16 of the 18 holes.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 7,099 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,146 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 14, a par-5 that plays to 584 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 179 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 16, a 479-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 5, a 322 yard par-4.
