Piney Point Golf Club is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Norwood, North Carolina, near Lake Tillery.
The course first opened for play in 1964. J. Porter Gibson of Charlotte designed and build the course. Chip Powell, renovated the greens and bunkers in 1998. All bunkers and greens were designed to meet or exceed USGA specifications.
The course has open fairways and well-manicured, flat greens. The terrain is flat and easy to walk, and water hazards come into play on holes #2, #8, and #9.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,740 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,955 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 11, a par-5 that plays to 505 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 3, a par-3 that plays to 180 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 5, a 441-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole is # 11, a 505 yard par-5.
