Detailed description of Tamarac Golf Club, Regulation Course
Tamarac Golf Club is a Semi-Private 18-hole golf course located in Lima, Ohio, The club had and a short nine hole par 3 course that closed in 2012.
Both courses opened in 1963. They were designed by John Hollowpeter.
Tamarac Golf Course is very challenging. The fairways are wide, and water hazards come into play on six holes.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,410 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,029 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 3, a par-5 that plays to 525 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 4, a par-3 that plays to 137 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 5, a 408-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Tamarac Regulation Golf Course is # 11, a 309 yard par-4.

I went for a LONG afternoon drive down in Ohio and found this local 1963 built course, with the Front 9 wide open.....we're stopping. With the Blues playing 3,231/3,179 w/ 69.6 / 118 rating down to Reds 5,029/68.7/110, this Par 36/36 looked very green and ready to go. Paid my $25 for 18 w/ cart and my girlfriend and I headed on out for a 2.5hr tour.
Tee boxes were in great shape and the fairways are cut short and narrow with friendly rough. The #1 is a straightaway 366yd Par 4 with a big tree blocking the RH side 2nd shot, so stay left. You drive by two (2) tee boxes and one (1) green but #2 a 382yd Par 4 Hcp 4 awaits you with trees right and wide-open left landing area. The #3 is a dogleg Par 5 at 525yds but don't let your tee shot go right because of water on the inside corner. The #5 Par 4 is their Hcp 1 at 408yds because of tightness (O.B. Left) on the last 200yds to the narrow green. The #6 is a nice 184yd Par 3 with short being an easy "Up & Down", trees going long and trap right side. The #7 Hpc 3 has scattered trees down the RH side on this straight 392yd Par 4. The #8 is a 485yd dogleg right with scattered trees on both sides that has your 2nd shot cutting the corner with a nice fade leaving a short 100yd shot. Missing the two (2) front traps and an easy Par 5 is yours.
The Back 9 starts out with #10 being a nice uphill 175yd Par 3 to a smaller sized unprotected green. The #11 Hcp 18 is a short 309yd Par 4 that has houses on the lefthand side and trees right. The #12 Hcp 4 dogleg left 517yd Par 5 brings water into play from the tee to green, so stay in the middle. If you miss the green right you'll be in the water as it's tight to the green. The #13 is a tough Hcp 2 at 417yds that has water left on the last 150yds so stay right. The #16 is a short sweeping right 493yd Par 5 so play smart and Par is yours. The #17 gives you the chance to hit your 180yd club twice as there is a wide creek crossing at 190yd to 250yds from the Blue tees. Finishing your round with a short 139-79yd Par 3 gives you one last chance to test your short game or play "Closest to the Pin" for an after round of drinks.
Enjoyed the great conditions on this local course in shooting 38/38 w/31 putts as missing the small greens didn't really penalize your miss. They had great sand on the few traps that were scattered throughout the course.
