Westwood Country Club, is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Rocky River, Ohio.
Incorporated as the Ridge View Land Company, the articles of incorporation were amended in 1914 to Westwood Country Club. The first round of golf on what was then a nine-hole course was played a year later.
In 1926, a redesign of the original golf course was completed, with 18 holes. Charles Hugh Alison, a leading golf course architect, led the project.
This traditional parkland style course is located in a wooded area. The fairways are bordered by a standard cut of rough, and most of them are lined by trees. Water hazards come into play on a few holes. The scenic layout has rolling hills and many signature approaches to well-guarded greens. The small greens are difficult to read.
Apple trees that separate the 12th hole from the practice range still stand as reminders of the old farm.
