Northwood Golf Club first opened for play in 1962. The course was designed by Ken Hoffman and John Calderone.
Northwood Golf Course is a scenic course. The many trees along the fairways can alter your shots. There are two streams that come into play on five of the nine holes. The fairways are wide open, but the true test is to avoid the streams and trees.
Northwood Golf Course plays to a 9-hole par-36 and maximum 9-hole distance of 3,234 yards.

Northwood has gone downhill since the new owners the Norris family took over. It has always been a public course but used to possess that private club feel but that's not the case anymore.
The tee boxes and greens are decent but the fairways are crabgrass and weeds. It's hard to distinguish the fairways from the rough. It's overpriced for the kind of course it is. I was expecting to see some sheep and goats grazing in the fairways because it's basically a pasture.
Last weekend we had beautiful days for golf and every course in the area was packed with golfers but Northwood had 6 cars in the parking lot (that should have told me something). If you do go golf there expect to see guys without shirts on and cigarette butts scattered on the tee boxes and greens and busch beer cans overflowing the garbage cans at the tees.
Northwood is now a true disgrace to our community. I would not reccomend this course to anybody even death row inmates. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DUMP!
