Detailed description of Spuyten Duyval Golf Club -Eighteen
Spuyten Duyval Golf Club is a Public, 27 hole golf facility located in Sylvania, Ohio. The facility has an 18-hole course, Spuyten Duyval Golf Course and a 9-hole executive course, Cottonwood Executive.
The Eighteen Hole Spuyten Duyval Golf Course is wide open and flat with water that comes into play on six holes. This is the ideal course for the average player. The Spuyten Duyval Golf Course first opened for play in 1933. The course was designed by Gary Shaneck and Bill Zorn, Jr.
The Executive Course is fairly short, but a great practice course. The 9-hole "Cottonwood Executive" course at the Spuyten Duyval Golf Course facility in Sylvania, Ohio features 1,765 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 32 . The Executive Course at Spuyten Duyval Golf Club opened for play in 1991. The Executive Course was designed by Gary Shaneck.

After playing at Whiteford Valley's "East" course this morning I drove down to Sylivania, OH (25 minutes) to view Brandywine Country Club & Spuyten Duyval Golf Club for future play, or not. Spuyten Duyval GC (18 & 9 hole layouts) closed its doors at the end of 2019 after selling the 226 acre plot to Western Reserve Land and Metroparks Toledo. This course was adjacent to the 610 acre Secor Metropark and will be made into a Prarie Landscape as was posted on the property. It's always sad to see a 90 year old course leave us BUT, At least it's not being made into another housing development.
