Beautiful, long, and challenging. We play there every chance we get. One of the best in the area. Only "complaint", the fairways do have a tendency to get a little crispy and hard in the summer if we haven't gotten rain.

Outstanding course, best Public Golf Course in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I play this course 5-10 times a year and I live an hour away. It is well worth the trip. Course rarely plays slow. Reasonably priced. We play just about every course from the Hazleton Area to the Poconos, Wilkes-Barre and Scranton and this is the best. Challenging, but not too difficult for avaerage golfer. Greens are fantastic.

What a disappointment! The course was in terrible shape save for the greens. Under watered, fairways were aerated but plugs had not been removed. Dry hard ground all over the place. There were no rangers that we were aware of, slow play, and no beverage cart.

We tried Sugarloaf based on Golf Digests ranking / recommendation in their "places to play" where they gave Sugarloaf a rank of 4 stars. This course barely deserved a 2.

Do not waste your time.
