Brookside Country Club is a Private, 18 hole golf course located in Macungie, Pennsylvania.
Brookside Country Club first opened for play in 1929. The course was designed by Frank Meehan.
Brookside Country Club's Golf Course was designed during the "Golden Age" of golf course architecture. The course continues to maintain many of the traditional aspects of the early design; steeply plateau greens with challenging internal slopes, deep greenside bunkers, tight contoured fairways lined with strategically placed bunkers. These elements are all part of what makes Brookside special, but it is the routing of the golf course that separates the course from many others. The use of the Swabia Creek provides a distinct challenge for golfers, the rolling Lehigh Valley topography makes for interesting lies and the use of the exposed rock quarries leaves a lasting impression on a golfer. A true classic course has a special group of par 3's, the single-shot golf hole was a favorite for most of the famed architects of the era. Brookside has four distinct par 3's, specifically the 5th and 12th holes. The entire 225 acre tract, complete with a full-practice facility is nestled beautifully in the Lehigh Valley.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees the course plays to 6,608 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 5,393 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 2, a par-5 that plays to 527 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 12, a par-3 that plays to 116 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 2, the 527 yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Brookside Country Club is # 12, the 110 yard par-3.
